In a month I would go back to my pack. The same people who discarded me like I was nothing. They shunned me, and one thing was for certain.

"I don't want to go back," I whisper into the darkness of my room. Aiden had come to me, I knew the moment Malin stepped foot on the property, my mate bond with him sung like a howl to the moon. My heart felt like it was completely broken. Aiden had calmed me and did his best to keep the tears at bay, but they still slipped past. It made the situation we were in so much more peculiar, to have a mate hold me because of another mate's treatment didn't sit well with me.

Was I so broken that I truly couldn't give myself to Aiden just because of what Malin had done to me? Did that make me just like him? Was I denying something that was a gift from a higher power, just because I got my stupid heartbroken by a man that was destined to love me? Questions circled inside my head the entire night. I knew Aiden had flipped his schedule to be awake with me, but even still I felt like I was taking advantage of him. He eventually went back to his own room, leaving me to collect my thoughts.

I slip from the silk bed, moving on my tiptoes into the bathroom. I decided on a shower, hoping that it would settle my hectic thoughts. I knew I couldn't run away from Malin forever, but I just didn't understand. He was meant to be married by now, his precious alpha female who lost her own Moon Blessed. It's been two years since I last saw his face, I often found myself wondering about him. I just never thought he'd actually care about me, he fooled me once before and I promised myself I'd never make that mistake again.

The warm water cascades down my body. I release a sigh of relaxation, and instead of Malin when I close my eyes, I meet the red of Aiden. Shivers rack my body, looking at his dark hair. Aiden's shoulders were the biggest part about him, they moved down into a more toned but sleek frame. I wanted nothing more than to see what he was hiding under those clothes. Would he be fit? Would he have tattoos? My mind practically screamed the questions.

"On my back, My Queen."

My brows pinch together, am I really imaging my mates voice in my head right now?

"No, love. However, if you could stop projecting so loudly, I'd be forever in your debt," Aiden chuckles in my head. The reality of what's happening takes a moment to set in, but when it does, I feel like I'm going to puke. I don't know if I should be exhilarated by the fact Aiden can hear my thoughts or leave the shower and find him just to slap the crap out of his perfect face.

Nothing.

I growl, turning the water off and quickly throwing on a tank top and shorts that were left for me.
